The Baloch tribes from Balochistan and Makran, many of whom nonetheless inhabit sections of Sindh, established a small settlement of fishing communities in the region and known as it Kolachi. In keeping with legend, the present city started as a fishing settlement where a Sindhi fisherwoman via the title of Mai Kolachi took up home and started a fa
